About:
The Buddy System is an electronic music group which consists of Kurt and his cluster of various noise making machines. This site is basically an online resource that follows his activities and interests.
Bio:
Kurt was brought up in the southeast region of America’s last frontier, and finally reached gold when he came to buy his first substandard electronic keyboard with 30 seconds of sampling time. For the next several years he found new wonders with dirty loops and making recordings in ad-hoc studios in the closets of the various trailers he grew up in. Shortly following his involvement in Sitka Alaska's only punk rock band was Kurt's personal follow-up with The Buddy System in 1995. After a couple self-released tapes and cd's did the project get its first chance at international distribution with "Application" being released on Belgium's U-Cover label, followed by Notenuf Records' release of "Transitions", as well as numerous compilation albums stretching from Japan to Estonia. Kurt received a B.S. in Computer Science at the University of Austin, TX, where he also was highly involved with the organization and support of Cinematexas short film festival, and worked as a specialty DJ and technician at 91.7FM student radio, as well as 97.1FM Free Radio Austin.
